Obituary of Ross Murray Baptist

We say goodbye to our beloved father, Ross Murray Baptist, who peacefully departed from this world on August 30th, 2024, at the age of 91. Ross, originally from Star City, Saskatchewan, passed away in his sleep at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Ontario.

He leaves behind his daughter, Leigh Ann Baptist, her spouse Darren Walker, and granddaughter Skyler Walker; his son, David Ross Baptist, and granddaughter Parker June Baptist; and his sister Jean Hawrychuk (Baptist), along with many nieces and nephews. Ross was predeceased by his wife, Marget Jean McConnell, and his siblings Coral Baptist, Harold Baptist (Irene), Kay Girdler (Roy), Bea Shipley (Fred), Clifford Baptist, Ethyl Whittle (Jim), Clarence Baptist (Marlene), Dorothy Declare (George), Ronald Baptist (Ethel), Elsie MacLean (Carl), Thelma McCoy (Don), and Kenneth Baptist.

Ross dedicated over 30 years to driving transport, but his greatest love was his family. No matter how far away they were, he made sure to visit often and lend a helping hand around the farm or cottage. He was never one to sit idle—always repairing something in need or tinkering with new projects. In his later years, he found joy in simple pleasures, often spending his mornings with a crossword puzzle and a coffee in hand.
