Obituary of Ruth Yvonne Gardner

RUTH GARDNER (Macklam) passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024 at the age of 100 years at The Village of Humber Heights retirement home in Toronto. Born in Brighton, Ruth worked as a teacher in Toronto before the birth of her children and as a legal real estate assistant with her lawyer husband John Gardner. She will forever be cherished by her children Peter Gardner (Joan Marsman) and Jane Gardner; grandson Ben Gardner (Emily Gardner), their son and great grandchild Levi John Gardner; grandson Kyle Gardner (Lisa Warden); Ruth’s brother Douglas Macklam and the many members of her extended family. She is predeceased by her beloved husband John Gardner who she was married to for 47 years; her parents Kenneth and Anna Macklam; her sisters Jean McGregor, Connie Herrington, Helen Sarich and brother Aleck Macklam. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at The Village of Humber Heights where Ruth lived for two years for their exceptional care and support. Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life with family will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in memory of Ruth Gardner to the charity of your choice.
